GET TO KNOW ME.

My name is Alexandra Berardelli. I'm from Brooklyn, New York and I’m a recent graduate of the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. I studied Classics, focusing on ancient Greek and Latin languages and culture. I also pursued studies in ancient Roman rhetoric and classical reception, as well as modern U.S. politics, rhetoric, media, and public policy in political science courses.

I’m serving as a Fulbright ETA Fellow* (25-26) in Athens, Greece.

BEHIND THE BLOG.

In 2023, a social media trend emerged, asking people—particularly men—how often they thought about the Roman Empire. Since then, many have used this reference to imply that it relates to something someone thinks about frequently. As a woman who actually studies the ancient Roman Empire, I think about it every single day.

This blog explores our (my) daily hyper-fixations — presenting interesting connections between modern life and the ancient past. It is essential to explore valuable lessons from our everyday lives that connect us to a seemingly distant past.

Anything goes with this. Let’s have fun.
